JOHN CONYERS TO SERVE AS HONORARY HOST FOR CBC ALC PANEL ON VOTING RIGHTS & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Washington, D.C. – On Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Annual Legislative Conference (ALC), Representative John Conyers, Jr. will serve as the honorary host for a panel entitled, “Voting: Engaging Activism Beyond the Ballot Box.” The panel, sponsored by the League of Conservation Voters, will focus on 21st century attacks on voting rights. These new attacks have evolved new voter suppression strategies that will require novel strategies to protect African-American political interests. This forum will assemble voices from across the spectrum to explore issue development and coalition building that drives greater activism from the local to federal level. WHO:
