Paul W. Olson As a member of our Board of Supervisors and active community volunteer, Paul Olson has dedicated much of his life to helping make Tredyffrin a better place for everyone who lives here. A successful businessman who today is the President of ANA Laboratories, Inc., Paul has helped bring real-world business management tools to township government to reduce costs and protect taxpayers. His efforts have helped make Tredyffrin one of the lowest-taxed municipalities in the immediate area while still providing needed services to residents. Paul’s record goes well beyond simply keeping property taxes in check. As Supervisor, his hard work helped earn – and maintain – Tredyffrin Township’s triple-A credit rating. This rating helps save tax dollars by reducing interest rates on any borrowed money, and Tredyffrin Township is one of three municipalities in Pennsylvania to earn this distinction. Paul’s record also includes, expanding our Parks and Recreation system, addressing stormwater issues, enacting a leaf burning ban, nearly tripling funding for fire fighters and emergency responders over just the past seven years, and much more. Active well beyond his duties as a Supervisor – and working side-by-side with Republicans, Democrats and Independents – Paul has given his time and energy to civic groups, sports groups and others across Tredyffrin. Paul was a Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign for the Strafford (Tredyffrin) Library, and a leader in the innovative public-private partnership that raised nearly $6 million for the renovation, expansion and modernization of this important community asset. His efforts, along with the efforts of everyone involved with the Capital Campaign, helped exceed the fundraising goal by nearly $3 million. Paul currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Surrey Services, helping to provide important services to our community’s older neighbors, and is a past President of the Devon-Strafford Little League, and past Head Coach for our youth basketball and football teams. Paul’s giving goes far beyond local organizations, as he is now the 5th highest donor of whole blood and blood platelets to the Red Cross in the Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware regions. In all, Paul has provided more than 390 donations of blood or platelets to the Red Cross, with a personal goal of reaching 500. Raised in Minnesota, Paul has now lived in Tredyffrin for more than 40 years. He and his wife, Andrea, raised three children here and are the proud grandparents of six. Paul is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He and his wife attend St. Luke Lutheran Church in Devon.
