Step 2 The Lens Assembly What purpose does the clear lens and convex center serve?

Step 3 Observe the Lamp

Can you light the bulb using the tools provided? Explore the reflector. What do you observe?

Step 4 Reflector Assembly

What is the electrical purpose of the metal ring? What does the use of copper material suggest to you about this part's purpose?

Step 5 The Light Bulb

There are two electrical contact points on the bulb. Get the bulb to light with the help of the wires, batteries, and light bulb.

Step 6 The Electric Circuit

A circuit is a path that electricity follows in a device. A circuit must have a power supply, load on the power, and conductors for electricity to flow. Most circuits also have a switch or controller to open and close a circuit.

Step 7 The Switch

Observe the switch materials and how the switch changes when turned "on" and "off." What is the purpose of the spring at the back of the case connected to the switch?
