SPORT: DATE: THURSDAY 21 MARCH, 2018 (BACK UP DATE WEDNESDAY 28 MARCH, 2018) VENUE: JOHN O’DWYER OVALS, CROOME ROAD ALBION PARK EVENT CONVENER: BRETT HERRON – CORPUS CHRISTI CATHOLIC HIGH, OAK FLATS MOBILE CONTACT: 0435 592 571 PROPOSED NUMBERS: 320 participating students (max) - based on 16 teams with a maximum of 20 players per team. 8-10 Supervisors based on one adult supervisor or teacher per team, 1 selection coordinator 1 event coordinator, 4 qualified referees, 1-2 first aid attendants GENERAL INFORMATION/COMMENTS Team managers are asked to meet with the carnival convener at the start of the day to discuss the organisation of the day and to go over safety issues, the role of the team manager/coach, referees and supporting team adults in ensuring the safety of all students. All rules and regulations are provided to schools and are online at the CEO sports website. Schools are reminded to have students appropriately prepared for the day. The coach/supervisor of the team should monitor player safety and remove any player at risk from the field of play. Any player who is over aggressive or partaking in rough play should be removed from play and issued with a warning. A repeat performance should result in the player being suspended for the remainder of the event. VENUE MAP:

Mouthguards must be worn in the following circumstances: § All selection trials and games organised for any occasion by the school, the school's sporting zone, regional and / or state school sport association. § All games or competitions organised by external organisations that are school endorsed activities. § Training sessions where skills training requires physical contact between participants. Players should be encouraged to wear Standards Australia approved head gear designed primarily to protect the ears and head against abrasions. Players who choose to wear shoulder pads should only use a type of shoulder pad approved by the Australian Rugby League (ARL). Boots must conform to the Laws of the Game. All players to wear full Rugby League uniform, a mouth guard and a numbered jersey. NO JEWELLERY is to be worn. The blood bin rule will apply and therefore any child who is bleeding will need to leave the field to be treated. Schools are advised to have their own basic first aid kit on hand in case of minor injuries. The first aid officer should be used if the injury is of a more serious nature. All teams are to be supervised by teachers and responsible parents. Teachers should ensure students are prepared for games and monitor any dangerous or risky behaviour both on
