FEATURING YOUR CAUSE WITH SCHMEAR IT -‐ FAQs
The Concept Schmear It’s business model transcends its bagels and schmear. The truck doubles as a grassroots fundraising and marketing platform for local nonprofits. Every two weeks, Schmear It features a new local cause to which a portion of sales will be donated. Leveraging its mobile market presence, Schmear It will raise funds and increase exposure for your organization.
Why Schmear It Wants to Feature You We want to make an impact and we believe in collaboration. We want to empower customers as do-‐gooders just through purchasing decisions. As we see it, it’s a win-‐win for all parties – customers become philanthropists at no extra cost or effort, your organization gets promotion and funding, and Schmear It gets good business.
Why Would You Want to be a Featured Cause Schmear It will market your cause for the two week period. This includes: • Posting information on the “Featured Cause of the Week” page of our website and directing customers to this page to learn more about your cause • Social Media postings on facebook and twitter throughout the two weeks • Posting your information on the “featured cause of the week” bulletin board of the truck • Your “listing” will remain on our page of past causes for visitors to browse after your featured week. Although your feature might be over, you’re still one of our proud partners whose work we will continue supporting and promoting. Schmear It will also donate a percentage of sales to your organization to support your mission. Currently, the average donation is about $130.
The Power of Engaging Networks By spreading word of mouth in our network, we strive to be a bolstering voice supporting your efforts to recruit volunteers, make a fundraising push, and/or spread awareness. By engaging your network, you provide your constituents a fun and easy way to show their support. We all spread the word together (while spreading some delicious bagels!), and in so doing, raise more awareness and funds for your cause.
Requirements
1. You provide print material for display and distribution on the truck by the Friday prior to your feature. 2. You provide in electronic format your logo, an informational blurb (including your mission and vision),
and any other rich media content for our online marketing consideration via email to
[email protected] by the Friday prior to your feature.
Selection Criteria
There are (un)fortunately too many tremendous organizations in Philly to feature everyone. We will review applications in the order in which they are received, and base selection on the following criteria: • Demonstrated local Philadelphia impact • Completeness and strength of application, including creative thinking surrounding concept
