School Uniform Footwear We expect children to wear conventional black school shoes. Not Acceptable Fashion clothing, footwear and nail varnish, are not appropriate at school. Protective Clothing Please provide an apron, overall or old shirt for messy activities. Please make sure that: · All items of your child’s clothing is clearly named, not least because it is almost impossible to identify the owner of the lost clothes otherwise. · Anything that should hang up, like your child’s coat, has a strong hanging loop securely attached to it. Core Uniform Boys & Girls · Navy-blue ‘V’ neck school logo sweatshirt or cardigan · Black school shoes · Grey or black, trousers, shorts or skirt · White or light blue shirt or polo shirt, logo optional. (worn tucked-in) · Plain grey, navy blue or white socks or tights. · School tie (Encouraged in years 3 to 6) Girls - summer variation · A blue and white ‘gingham’ summer dress. Jewellery, including wrist bands, should not be worn to school, with the exception of a watch and small, plain studs or safety sleepers. Hairbands should be plain and close fitting, avoiding additional adornments. House Colours Parents will be advised which house their child will be in, this determines the colour of their PE T-shirt. PE Kit PE Kits should be brought in to school on a Monday and taken home on a Friday to be washed. House-colour T-shirt, black shorts, black plimsolls and appropriate outdoor sports shoes. Dark coloured tracksuits, hats and gloves may be worn in cold weather. Swimming Lessons All children in Year 5 have a course of swimming lessons. Children will need, a one-piece swimming costume or trunks, (trunks should be fitted, not shorts) a towel and a swimming hat.
