It is hard to believe it, but summer is here and it is almost time to begin the 2017-18 school year. I hope all of you had a great summer and enjoyed it with your family and friends. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you, new and current students, parents, and teachers to the wonderful learning community of the Laveen Elementary School District. This new educational cycle promises to be a wonderful one, filled with opportunities, satisfactions, new experiences, and, yes, challenges too, as students strive to find ways to be even better than they have been before. We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, students, and parents: that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful and productive work in the classrooms, combined with special events and extracurricular activities This coming school year, the highly qualified staff of professional educators and support personnel of Laveen ESD Administrators will continue to build upon and refine the foundation of good work, honored traditions and continued excellence in education, to fulfill their mission of "developing in our children the knowledge, skills, and character to achieve academic excellence, personal growth, and success in a safe, positive environment. motivating and educating each student as future leaders in our society". Yet, as demands and complexities of teaching increase, it becomes more evident that we -school and community- will need to work together to insure that our children reach their full potential. Thus, I would like to extend an invitation to our families in the Laveen ESD to join at school activities and events whenever possible and to work in partnership with teachers and staff. We need and value parents' involvement and support in the education of their children. By the same token, I, personally would like to offer you my collaboration in anything you might need.
