Review for Accuracy  Identifying Information – Legal Name, Date of Birth, Guardians, Address, Social Security #, Etc.  Course History, Grades, Credits – Speak to former teachers or counselor about any discrepancies  Progress toward high school graduation and college admissions requirements, community service hours

Overall Weighted GPA: “Cumulative” Includes all courses from 9-12 with weight given to honors and AP courses earned with an A, B, or C.  CSU/UC Weighted GPA Includes only “A-G” courses grades 10-11 with weight given to honors and AP courses earned with an A, B, or C. Calculations for each system vary slightly. 

NOTE: Official calculation of GPA is done by the UC or CSU system; GPA’s may ultimately differ slightly from the transcript. 

Class ranks are respective to GPA and may change.

 A Grade of “D” or Better earns one credit. No credit for “F” grades.  32 credits to be considered “On Track” to graduate in June 2016  44 minimum credits to graduate

30 Hours Community Service Students from Out of District: “Prorated” for year of entry into SUHSD. Transcripts will be adjusted accordingly. don’t count for college! Although a “D” grade is passing, it is considered nonmastery. Repeat any necessary A-G courses ASAP.

College acceptance letters are tentative, conditional, provisional. Colleges can rescind an offer for admissions if your GPA drops significantly or if you earn D and F grades. grades

Certain colleges/scholarships will require references from teachers/counselors; check requirements carefully. Select individuals who know you well. Make a request in person; an e-mail link will not suffice. Letter of Recommendation request forms are available in Counseling Center; attach your resume. Give at least two weeks advanced notice, including two weeks BEFORE a school break. Recommendations will NOT be written over school vacations. Plan accordingly, communicate early!
