SLCE Future Directions Project: Ways to Get Involved 1. Commenting on the website Readers are welcome to become learning community members at any time by commenting on blog posts and thought pieces, offering your perspectives from a theoretical and/or experiential perspective. Commenting is open to all and does not require specialized permissions. Share your thoughts freely in the comment box at the bottom of each page. II. Blogging Have ideas and questions that will take a bit longer than the comment box to share? Do you want to share your thinking about the future of SLCE in the form of a video clip, artwork, short essay, or other product?
Contact Sarah and Patti at
[email protected] to get set up as an author on the blog. III. Crafting a substantive thought piece (1500 - 2000 words) of your own for the website Do you want to respond in depth to a piece we have already published and/or develop your own new topic as a thought piece? Contact Sarah and Patti at
[email protected] to pitch your idea for a longer thought piece. IV. Developing your thought piece into a journal article Contributors to III above are invited to further develop thought pieces for consideration in a Special Section of the 2016 issue of the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning. V. Collaboration beyond the level of contributing thinking If you represent an organization or entity committed to the work of the SLCE-FDP and want to collaborate more deeply (e.g., become a sponsor of the project, bring the project to your organization as a professional development and scholarship opportunity, provide leadership in the ongoing evolution of the project), please let us know. We are eager to connect with others in support of this international learning community and are open to suggestions and ideas for enhancing the project and supporting each other. Contact Sarah and Patti at
[email protected] to discuss next steps for partnership.
