CALL FOR PAPERS The series Readers and Texts plans to publish a volume of essays that study current methods of research in the field of textual studies. In times of strong pressures to multiply academic research products, it seems necessary to pause for reflection on our work: contemporary academic hurry should not make us lose consciousness of our professional purpose and raison d'être. The objective of this project, entitled Slow Research, is an in-depth exploration of the organization, methods and tools used today in studying texts from different cultures, times and forms of communication (Europe, Asia, Africa, America, Oceania, fiction, poetry, theater, cinema, television, blogs, sites, contemporary and ancient texts, etc., without any limit or border) with the aim of favoring comparative analyses and exchanges. Both theoretical contributions and field research are invited. There is not yet a deadline for submitting papers: research, like fruit, should be collected only when it is ripe and ready, without hurry. At the moment, an indication of interest in the project, with a short description of the proposed contribution, should be sent by e-mail to
[email protected] by the end of January 2018. The details of the project and the following deadlines will be discussed and agreed among the participants.
