The Mobile Launch Pad for Critical Careers is a mobile laboratory that visits communities across North Carolina and allows middle school, high school and community college students and the public the opportunity to learn about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
The Launch Pad offers scientific demonstrations, unique activities, and experiments that introduce you to educational and rewarding career paths in these fields including Aerospace, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy and Green Technology, Health Care and Life Science. The Mobile Launch Pad also hosts visiting scientists, industry experts and instructors who explain real-life activities.
Equipment used in North Carolina industries, videos and games used for training workers and hands-on short experiments, introduce visitors to a variety of professions and career choices found throughout North Carolina.
The Launch Pad for Critical Careers is supported through grant funding from the Duke Energy Foundation as the bus visits multiple school events, community or economic events, and anywhere individuals gather and have questions regarding their future.
Look for the Launch Pad for Critical Careers in your community and learn how you can have a fun, rewarding, important education or career in North Carolina’s scientific and technical communities.
