Fashion Edit; Chanel Joan Elkayam- Sport Luxe As some of you may be aware I recently wrote an article in collaboration with Chanel Joan Elkayam. This piece was ultimately one of my favourite pieces so far. Which makes me super excited to give you all the second Collaboration with Chanel! This unseen photoshoot, is another segment of her first collection. If you did not catch my first piece and if you haven’t heard of Chanel Elkayam here’s a brief, Chanel will be one of the youngest Fashion Designer to ever present at Paris Fashion Week. She is an 18 years old Fashion Designer and student at the famous Central St. Martins. The Chanel Joan Elkayam fashion label represents a bold, elegant and sophisticated clothing collection. Designed and made by Chanel Joan, her vision is that even the smallest detail is important to complete a perfect complimentary garment and this has led to the creation of a chic and refined collection. This shoot ‘Sport Luxe’ is very structured around the chequered pattern sometimes seen as the tartan look.
This Photoshoot is an alternative look in comparison to the first segment article. These pieces are a lot more on the side of day wear rather than evening wear. This look reminds me of a school girl dress which is very uniform with a hint of elegance. This piece also has a twist of the sporty look, somewhat similar to a netball sportswear. When speaking to Chanel herself I asked what she was aiming to achieve with these pieces; “With these pieces I was trying to create a casual sporty look but keeping the garment still super elegant” I think Chanel Joan has definitely gone for gold when creating these garments. As forementioned these pieces remind me of the netball wear but slightly more elegant. The next piece shown to the right is one of my favourite pieces in the collection, this paired with the Gladiator boots is a style that is most definitely in this year. This ensemble would also probably pair great with the full knee high boots, again in black.
The black round neck top layered with the blazer fits in with the recent and rising craze of layering. The black blazer has the added accent of the chequered collar in order to create the clear cohesion between that and the skirt. The skirt is similar to that of a school skirt, pleated and in a similar chequered pattern. This outfit would look great with a high ponytail or as seen in the images a long fishtail plait. This would look great with a very natural makeup, such as minimalistic makeup, a nude lip, flush cheeks and dark but natural contour. Matched with a pale pink or nude eye, blended out just above the crease. The final piece in this segment is this all in one, the skirt is just above the knee and is perfect for giving out the classy and elegant look, I believe Chanel has incorporated all the elements of the ideal look, in making this overall look sporty but still elegant. This works for those women who wish to stay classy but giving that hint of being a team player. The flow between both of the pieces works well and is structured so perfectly as a whole outfit as an illusion of a -two-piece outfit. This outfit works great with a classy up-do hairstyle as well as natural makeup, for me there is no need for added accessories this piece says it all as it is mature and classy, the ‘pan’ collar also known as the ‘peter pan’ collar dresses the piece and actively acts as a necklace.
This piece is figure complimenting outfit portraying an almost hourglass figure! The panels highlight and compliment the figure, they create the illusion of curves for those who don’t have them and highlight them for those who already have them. The double contrasting fabrics works perfectly and really brings out the next level of fashion. This piece looks amazing paired with stilettos and can be worn to a business meeting with more court heels or again paired with stilettos on an evening out! It must be noted that this is just a smaller section of her much larger collection, this being her first collection. Overall, Chanel Joan has really created another wonderful shoot, exhibiting master pieces which rightfully belong in the fashion world. Each to their own I believe Chanel is one of the biggest upcoming Fashion Designers, as stated previously she is soon to set foot in the Paris fashion week, displaying her latest collection! I wish to thank all those who have taken their time to read this piece. I would also like to ask all to take the time and take a look at Chanel Joan’s Facebook page, her website is currently under construction so make sure you keep a look out for that!
