The effects of youth substance abuse are devastating for our youth, parents, families and community. The well-being and future of our children are at stake. Take action! The Sisterhood, led by NYSNA RNs, will present a free workshop to educate parents on awareness, prevention, intervention and treatment of substance abuse. This workshop will provide parents with resources and tools to make a difference in our youths’ lives. Participating organizations include: New York State Women, Inc. - Staten Island, Richmond and Bay Ridge chapters, Amethyst House, South Shore Democratic Club, World of Women (WOW), Soroptimist International-SI, Stapleton UAME Church, National Council of Negro Women Staten Island North Shore Section, Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc., Lambda Chapter, Staten Island Women’s Bar Assoc., Angel Communities, Staten Island Women’s Political Caucus, Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) SI, Tackling Youth Substance Abuse (TYSA)
