Southern Oregon ESD The Regional Advantage

Summer STEAM Camps are an excellent opportunity for students to engage in activities promoting science, math, engineering, art and computer science. These experiences are sure to intrigue students to participate in other STEAM workshops, high school classes, and ultimately pursuing a career in one of many STEAM-related fields. Camps offered for Hidden Valley, North Valley, Illinois Valley, and Grants Pass students. Transportation provided for Hidden Valley, North Valley, and Grants Pass students only. Lunch provided.

HEALTH OCCUPATIONS

Students will learn basic anatomy and body systems in an interactive and fun environment. Students will utilize problem solving skills to determine diseases and diagnosis. Forensic fun!

STOP-MOTION ANIMATION

It'll take every drop of our creative (and cooperative!) superpowers to conceive, plan, produce, and distribute a 30-second public service announcement in four short days! We'll use common materials, affordable cameras, and basic editing software to tell our own short story in our own unique way, from start to finish.

MINECRAFT EDU

Minecraft Edu is an open-world game that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive environment where the only limit is your imagination.

CODING

This course will introduce new programmers to fundamental coding concepts. Topics will include: variables, strings, functions, loops, logic & if statements, and drawing with code. Students can work individually or in teams and programmers with experience will build on the knowledge they have to create more complex programs. This course will focus primarily on the Python and JavaScript languages
