South Callaway R-II School District is accepting applications for a bus aide for the
2017/18 school year. The purpose of the position is to provide support within the student transportation services area with specific responsibilities for assisting special education students during transport to anf from school and/or special activiies. Essential Functions Incude: Assist special education students and other passagers for the purpose of providing safe loading and unloading from buses during normal transport and emergency situations. Montiors students with special needs until released to teacher, instructional assistant, parent, etc. for the purpose of ensureing the safe transportation of all passengers Report observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to the appropriate personnel for their action. Secures students and/or their equipment (e.g. restraints, checks wheel chair tie downs, seat belts, open ramp, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students. Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring efficeint and effective functioning of the work unit. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physcial demands: significant lifting, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must pass criminal justice fingerprinting/background check.
