STUDENT AND YOUNG CAREER MEETING SUPPORT AWARDS FOR 2017 OBFS MEETING at the University of Minnesota's Itasca Biological Station and Labs September 20st - 24th, 2017
It is with great pleasure that we announce the availability of a Meeting Support Award to attend the 2017 OBFS Annual Meeting at the University of Minnesota's Itasca Biological Station and Labs in Lake Itasca, Minnesota. Please review the criteria and deadlines below to apply for this award. Requisites: • Letter of interest from Director of station. • Justification of need. • Link to station’s webpage or information. • Membership in OBFS in good standing. Receipt of applications will take place from May 1, 2017 through June 5, 2017. Decisions will be announced directly to the applicants by June 30, 2017 to give sufficient time to purchase plane tickets at reasonable prices. The award is provided on a reimbursement basis only (i.e., no funds will be provided ahead of expenses). Award is limited to $2000. Allowable expenses include economy airfare to the meeting location, normal travel expenses (meals, in-route lodging, car rental) and meeting fees. Original receipts will be required for reimbursement of allowed expenses. Priority will be given to small field stations in developing countries. Membership in OBFS is required to qualify for the award. Membership fees are not reimbursable or allowed as part of the meeting awards. Previous recipients of meeting awards (travel grants) will be considered but priority will be given to new applicants.
