Newfound Regional High School Student Vehicle Use Regulations
Parking for students is permitted in the paved lot adjacent to the auditorium and gymnasium, and the lots along the road by the baseball and softball fields, and in the unpaved lot across from the softball field. Under no circumstances are students to park in the lot in front of the main building, on the roadway, in reserved/visitor spaces or fire lanes. If a student parks in an unauthorized area, and/or violates other school vehicle-use rules, a warning sticker may be applied to the driver's window and/or the vehicle may be towed at the owner’s expense. The parking permit is a numbered vinyl sticker. These stickers should be affixed to the bottom corner of the registered vehicle’s rear window. It is the student driver’s responsibility to ensure that his/her permit is displayed in the proper vehicle at all times while on school grounds. Without the proper permit displayed, a student will not be allowed to park on school property. Students are allowed to register up to two vehicles. If an unregistered vehicle is to be driven to school, the driver or the driver’s parents/guardians should contact the prior to driving the vehicle to school, in order to avoid the vehicle be stickered and/or towed at the owner’s expense. Driving and parking at Newfound Regional High School is a privilege. Students are expected to follow all driving laws and school rules outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook. Driving privileges may be removed either temporarily or permanently for those who abuse their license to drive, or violate school vehicle use rules. Further, improper use of a motor vehicle on school grounds may results in the towing of a vehicle at the student’s expense, losing parking/driving privileges, and/or receiving other disciplinary action, including, but not limited to, suspension from school. Students are reminded that this privilege also involves acting responsibly and respectfully. Students are not permitted to sit in or use their vehicle during the school day unless they have permission to travel to a specific location during school hours. Students with permission to leave campus must sign out in the Main Office. Parking Regulations 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
Affix your parking permit stickers to the bottom comer of the registered vehicle’s rear window. If your permit is lost or stolen, notify the Main Office. There may be a waiting period before a new permit is issued. Do not sell, lend, or rent your permit. It is to be used only by you in the designated vehicle. Do not attempt to alter or tamper with the permit. If you do not have a permit on you, you are not allowed to park on school property. Students will park only in designated student lots. This permit may be revoked for failure to follow driving laws, school rules, and parking regulations.
