Girard High School Summer 2017 Newsletter Dear Parents and Students, Lock arms and stand shoulder to shoulder with Girard High School as our students enjoy the opportunities and face the challenges that will come in the 2017-2018 school year! Forever remember… WE ARE GIRARD WE ARE STRONG After being named a US News and World Report Best High School for the 7th consecutive year, we venture into this school year with momentum and pace setting innovation. Students this year will be invited to take Information Technology (IT) and Cyber Security courses to learn computer coding and Information Management Systems. English Language Arts learners will work daily on Chromebooks installed in English classrooms to strengthen reading, writing, research, and communication skills. The College Credit Plus Program remains vibrant on campus and now includes Composition I & II, Speech, Literature, Biology, Statistics, Calculus and Accounting. The American Sign Language program will now offer ASL III for third year ASL learners. Fine and Performing Arts students will now enjoy jazz band in addition to acapella vocal music. Today is truly a great day to be a Girard Indian! I am thrilled to return as your Principal and remain committed to being here for you! Together, We Are GIRARD!
Sincerely,
William L. Ryser Principal
