Buena Vista Elementary
Greenville County Schools June 21, 2017 Dear Parents and Families of Bobcats, Thank you and congratulations to our entire Buena Vista Elementary School community on another successful school year! The 2016-2017 year was very successful due to the hard work and commitment of the students, staff, parents, and community every day. I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure as PrinciPal for the past fifteen years. While I will desperately miss you and your children, I will look forward excitedly to hearing of ALL the many successes that will occur. Please know how much I appreciate your support in the past. I know that you will welcome Mr. Burgess as he takes over the helm of our EXCELLENT school. He cares deeply and is excited about the possibilities awaiting him in the new school year. Your Retiring PrinciPal, Ann K. Mohr, Ph.D. Summer time is here! I hope this letter finds each and every one of you enjoying your family, friends and some vacation time in the pool, on the court or participating in your favorite summer time activity. We have some very exciting plans in store for you with many leadership and creative opportunities. You will not even recognize our playground thanks to our amazing PTA!!! I am so thrilled and fortunate to be your new Principal and look forward to the new school year. Please review the 2017 – 2018 school year information below. If you are driving your child to school, please remain in the car line. The parking lot is NOT a student drop off. Any child using the crosswalk must be accompanied by an adult. The staff on duty is monitoring the safety patrols and students exiting from cars. There will be a rising Kindergarten Orientation on August 17th at 5:30 for parents only. This is a required meeting since this is the first time your child will attend Buena Vista Elementary. We will host a Meet the Teacher drop-in on August 18th from 5-7 pm. At the Meet the Teacher, you and your student will be able to join PTA, meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, purchase school spirit wear, sign up for enrichment classes and gain information about many other activities. We hope you will join us!
