SunRidge Middle School PTSO, Inc Meeting Minutes April 2, 2015 Attendance: Patricia Bowen-Painter, Helen Adler, Kim Henderson, Yolianne Amadeo, Susan El Amrani, Sissy Sniffen, Rhonda Vosevich, Nancy DiSalvo, Rose Sirois, Margrett Guagliardo, Nancy Reyes, Cheryl Roesch, Alain Dawson and Kelly McDonnell Yolianne Amadeo called the meeting to order at 8:50am at SunRidge Middle School. Principal’s Report: Mrs. Painter presented a notification letter regarding asbestos. A testing schedule will go out next week. Testing begins on April 13th thru May 8th. SunRidge Middle School will be hosting the next Principal’s Meeting on April 9th. Mrs. Painter asked the PTSO to donate desserts for approximately 50 people. President’s Report: Yolianne Amadeo said there would be a Board of County Commissioners Meeting for the Relief High School for West Orange on Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00pm. We need as many people as possible to attend the meeting. Please wear orange. Transportation is also being provided. If interested, please meet at West Orange High School at 12:15pm on April 7th. Treasurer’s Report: Kim Henderson reported that the March bank statement was reviewed and signed by Rhonda Vosevich. The income received in March came from Spirit Wear, 8th Grade Dance, Media Center Support (Carnations) and Fundraising (Magazines). The expenses in March were from Media Center Support, 8th Grade Dance, PTSO fees and bank/credit card fees. A motion was made by Cheryl Roesch to give the school $6000.00 to be distributed as follows: $1000.00 to Media Production for new equipment, $1000.00 to the Music Department for instruments and books, $1000.00 to the PE department for new equipment, $1000.00 to the Media Center and $2000.00 for other minor requests from various departments at school. The money was raised thru the Eagle Booster Club. Kim Henderson seconded the motion, motion passed. Committee Reports: Membership: No report. Communications: We typically have 100 hits for the website after the eBlast has been sent out.
Hospitality: There is information in the eBlast regarding donations of gift cards for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. There will also be a Faculty Snack on Wednesday, April 22nd. A volunteer spot will go out soon requesting donations.
Fundraising: No report. Mentoring: No report. Spirit Wear: Alain Dawson said she is winding down for the year. She will have more items on sale between now and the end of the year. She is also looking for a co-chair for next year. Angel Fund: We are waiting until testing is over to do any type of collection. Box Tops: Rhonda Vosevich said a check should arrive after school is out for $490.00 Library Enrichment: No report. PIE: Our next Spirit Night will be at Chick-Fil-A tonight from 5:00pm-8:00pm. All proceeds will go to the AVID program. Public Relations: No report. Family Involvement: No report. Volunteer Coordination: No report.
8th Grade Celebration: 8th Grade Celebration will be held on May 29th. 8th Grade Dance: No report. Old Business: Yolianne Amadeo said a motion was made in March regarding a bylaw change. The revision is in Section 3 Part B—in order to be nominated a person must be a member in good standing for the new year of service at SunRidge Middle School. A vote was taken and the motion was approved. New Business: Our last meeting of the year will be on Thursday, May 14th at 8:45am. We will have our elections for the executive board.
