Workshop on Significance and Use of Thematic Apperception Test in Psychological Assessment 22nd-23rd September’12 Saturday & Sunday Projective tests play an important role in overall psychological assessment of a person and more specifically in psychodiagnostic assesment. Thematic Apperception Test is being used with confidence in both clinical and organizational set up which provides information about needs, conflict, interpersonal relationships, aggressive tendencies, aspirations and perception about one’s future. Learning objectives of the workshop are to orient and to provide knowledge to participants about an overview of projective tests, theoretical background of TAT , rationale, administration, scoring and interpretation. Method used will be lecture, demonstration of the test administration, one to one interaction and illustration by analyzing stories. As per the availability of time, workshop has the provision of hands on experience for the participants. Course Director :
Professor TejBahadur Singh is a postgraduate in Psychology (1975) from Ranchi University pursued his studies for his professional qualification at Central Institute of Psychiatry under the same University. He was awarded postgraduate Diploma in Psychiatric Social Work, Diploma in Medical and Social Psychology and Doctoral Degree by CIP Ranchi under the same university. In 1991 he was awarded British Council study fellowship and had training at school of education, University of Birmingham in the area of special education and Psycho-social rehabilitation. After serving PGI, Chandigarh, NIVH Dehradun, NIPCCD, New Delhi in various capacities, he joined Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences as faculty(1996) and superannuated from the services of IHBAS in the year 2012(June). Cuurently he is Director of Indian Institute of Psychology. He served as President of the “ Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists” for two years (2008-2009). Dr. Vibha Sharma, a post graduate (1989) and Ph.D (1997) in Psychology from Dayalbagh Education Institute (Deemed University), Agra; obtained her professional degree M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology (1992) from Central Institute of Psychiatry; Ranchi University. Currently she is Associate Professor in the department of Clinical Psychology, Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Science, Delhi. She has also been awarded and honoured by various professional associations including 'Young Scientist Award' by Indian Science Congress.
