JURNAL TEKNOSAINS WRITING GUIDELINE FOR AUTHOR THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA
JOURNAL DESCRIPTION __________________________ JURNAL TEKNOSAINS, is a journal which began publication in 2011, and is published each semester in June and December. JURNAL TEKNOSAINS is a series of scientific publications in science and technology area from the perspective of a multi and interdisciplinary studies. JURNAL TEKNOSAINS is an interdisciplinary forum for the publication of original peerreviewed, contributed and invited articles to improve and enhance science and technology. The journal provides a stimulating and informative variety of papers geared toward theory and practice in the hope that common information shared among a broad coalition of individuals and groups involved in science and technology will facilitate future efforts. JURNAL TEKNOSAINS published by the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada. All articles will be subjected to double-blind peer review process following a review by the editors. AUDIENCE
The primary, but not exclusive, audiences are academicians, postgraduate students, and others interested people in science and technology research. POLICY ON DATA AVAILABILITY

Upon the submission of the manuscripts, author(s) will receive the confirmation of the submission along with some submission declaration forms that need to be filled and signed before Editors can process the manuscript.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS AND EDITORIAL DECISION
All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. Those manuscripts evaluated by editors to be inappropriate to journal criteria are rejected promptly without external review. Manuscripts evaluated to be of potential interest to our readership are sent to double blind reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewer’s recommendation from among several possibilities: rejected, require major revision, need minor revision, or accepted. The Editor-in-Chief of Jurnal Teknosains has the right to decide which manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published.

AUTHOR GUIDELINE
The editor of Jurnal Teknosains welcomes article submissions with the following writing guidelines: 1. Articles have not been published in any other Medias and do not contain any elements of plagiarism. 2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications, issues reports, and book review. 3. Please note the following requirements for submitting book reviews: o

books being reviewed should be newly published (within the last one year for books in Bahasa Indonesia and two years for books in other foreign languages), or it is the main reference of one of a field study. book reviews should be between 3-5 pages in length, and a copy/ scan of the book cover should be attached.
4. Articles are written in Bahasa Indonesia or English (preferable) using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1,5 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 8-15 pages in length including references, pictures, and tables. 5. Title, abstract, and keywords should be written in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. 6. Article should be in form of essay with the following structure: o title (max 12 words): comprehensive, clear, precise and dose not contain sub titles. Title is written in capital letter with the font size of 14, formatted in bold and 1 space. o author’s name (without academic degree) with an e-mail address, institution’s name and its address, o articles’ completion date should be written under author’s address to show it’s contemporary o abstract is written in Bahasa Indonesia and English, formulated in one paragraph contained 100-150 words which represents aim, method and result of the paper. o key words in English and Bahasa Indonesia (5-7 words), o section and subsection: section and subsection title are written in bold with font size of 12. Section title is written in capital letter, while the subsection title is written using title case. o introduction (may include subsections) contains background, objectives, literature reviews, theoretical framework (if needed), and materials and methods. o result and discussion can be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, provide and discuss clearly on the problem and aim of the research o figure, table and formula should include title, number, as well as detailed information and should be refered in the text (figure title and number are written under the figure/picture, while table title and number are written above the table). Result which is displayed in a figure or table should be a final result. Figure and table referencing by mentoning the number not the position such as “ bellow”, “above” etc. but it should be “in table 4”, “in figure 2” etc. o conclusion o acknowledgement and thanks note can be written precisely if needed o references listed should be referred in the article. 7. Reference list format is based on Harvard referencing style and ordered alphabetically. (See Bibliography below)

[email protected]. the Article is written using Microsoft Word/Rich Text Format. 9. Notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) will be informed to the authors by e-mail. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned to the authors. 10. Author should be willing to revise their articles if needed 11.
