THE LIME CHALLENGE Created by: Erin

Within five minutes, build a freestanding structure to support a lime on top. The lime must be at least 3.5 inches above the ground, and connected only to the structure the team has made.

5 inches square of cardboard

1 foot of tape

1 foot square of trash bag material

o Each individual team’s lime must only be touching the structure. o The lime must be more than three inches above the ground/surface. o No one must not break the skin of lime. o Your team can use as much or as little of your given materials. o When all teams have their materials, they will have five minutes to work. o After the time is up, no one must come in contact with the structure.

If the structure holds the lime, the winner will be determined by how far the lime is from the base of the structure. Breaking one of the rules disqualifies the whole team.
