Assembly:

Block each finished panel to correct height/width. Join the two panels together by seaming 20”/51cm [30”/76cm] along the edge of “Row 40 [49]”, working from the bottom till you reach the shoulder line. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Tassels (make 6):

Cut 12 16”/41cm strands of yarn and set aside. Cut 120 [150] strands of yarn 14”/36cm in length – Divide into 6 groups of 20 [25] strands each.

Tie each group of yarn at the middle point with one of the 16”/41cm strands. Fold each group in half, then tie another 16”/41cm strand around each folded bundle about 1.25”/3cm from the top – Continue wrapping the tails of the strand around the group 3 – 4 times. Tie the tops of the tassels onto the 6 corners of the

ruana, making sure to weave the loose ends inside the middle of each tassel. Trim tassels to 5”/13cm [6”/15cm] in length.

Hope you all enjoyed this pattern for a snuggly ruana poncho, perfect for a brisk autumn day! If you have any questions about this pattern feel free to contact me via my email address, [email protected] or visit my blog at, hopefulhoney.com
