BUILDING ADDITIONS Directed by Brigid Vilardo Lyons, Ph.D. This eight-week, group-based treatment program for children ages 6-8 focuses on promoting skills to develop positive peer relationships and reduce behaviors that interfere with daily functioning. The program is modeled after the award-winning, SAMHSA endorsed, Summer Treatment Program (STP).
The Summit Center Ages 6 –8 years old 150 Stahl Road, Getzville, NY 14068 Begins Monday, January 25, 2016 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Program Description: The program offers children with behavior problems the opportunity to receive treatment for peer difficulties in a natural setting. Children learn skills to help them improve peer relationships through the use of modeling and role play. They will discuss the use of key social skills and how these skills can help them at home and school. Following the social skills discussion, children participate in a cooperative activity such as a sports game or a problem solving activity. Behavior modification therapy is implemented throughout the program to shape the development of appropriate social skills and compliance with requests and rules. Program Cost: Reimbursable through insurance (co-pay may apply). Private Pay Rate $60.00 per group session.
