Mental Health First Aid Course for Emergency Responders Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives the student skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. This course can be used for TN Commission on Firefighting and TN EMS EMUs. Course offered in the following four locations (8 AM – 5 PM). Registrants will be given address upon registering. Line-Of-Duty-Death Incident Response for Chiefs and Chaplains. 26-27 January 2018 (8 AM – 5 PM) Jackson Fire Training Center, TN This course provides guidance for initial assistance, investigative support guidelines, agency notifications, emergency service funeral protocols, liaison functions with funeral homes, attaining pre-designated LODD funeral benefits, follow-up care for family and department, and preparation of documentation sets required for federal Public Safety Officer Benefits program and State LODD benefits. This is a TFFC level 300 course - $150
