Location: Schusterman - Benson Library, meeting room Date: Nov. 13, 2012 Time : 05:30 pm # attending 14 Question was asked about where to take TVs and monitors Answer: Natural Evolutions at 13th and S. Sheridan Discussed Route 66 marathon: Green Team TMRA booth, volunteers will be in the Runners Expo on Friday and Saturday o Demonstrate hydrapouches and sell them for $10.00 each o Collect running shoes to be taken to the Day Center for the homeless. Goal for next year: Have a TMRA volunteer at each waste station for educational purposes. Officers and board member elections: Kristi reported that all offices had only one person showing interest in the office. No further nominations were heard. Kristi suggested that the position be given to those showing interest with no further voting. The motion was seconded. President / Diana Askins Vice President / Kristi Shreve Treasurer/ Matt Albright Secretary / Pamela Robinson Board members/ Bob Stewart and Jessica Hargis Suggestions: Diana: that we have a meeting every other month. Kristi: that we look for someone to help with the TMRA website Nora: that we have a news flash sent out once a week or once a month. Jessica: look into TMRA being compensated for organizing and monitoring the recycling at events. Jessica advised that next year she will only be involved with sporting event projects for TMRA. This means we will need to find someone to lead the Bixby BBQ recycling efforts. If anyone is interest in taking this on let Diana know.
TMRA Member Designs “Recycle” Tree for the Philbrook Festival of Trees TMRA member, Carla Dorsey Schenck’s (2012 graduate) “recycle” tree was chosen to be a part of this year’s Philbrook Festival of Trees. 95% of the decorations were made from recycled materials; the majority coming from her own recycling bin. Decorations included: Candy canes made from flex straws covered in glitter from QT, Blue stars from #2 plastic coffee can lids and cord from a former project, Pop bottle tops with glitter and bead inside, and Pop top rings strung into a garland. The Philbrook Festival of Trees runs from November 17 – December 9. Congratulations Carla!
