FOLLOWING THE MESSAGE 1) 27:3 Paul was granted time to visit the Christians in that town. This act of kindness from a Roman centurion speaks to the high level of respect Paul had earned. 2) 27:3 In ancient sea travel, passengers were expected to provide for themselves.

11) Storms have a way of revealing character, but they also can give us opportunity to witness for Jesus. 12) It was not the apostles who triumphed in Acts; it was the Gospel that triumphed! GREEK WORDS Typhōnikos (too-fo-nee-kos')—stormy :- tempestuous Euroclydon—hybrid Greek and Latin word that means “a northeasterner”

3) 27:11 Because the ship was contracted to the imperial grain fleet, the centurion—not the captain—was the ranking officer and got the final say. 4) 27:20 Situations like the shipwreck happen because people will not listen to sound wisdom coming from God. 5) 27:21-22 In that moment, Paul stood in their midst to bring hope when all hope was gone. The role of a believer is to be a voice for God when people can’t see a way out. 6) 27:24 Paul was committed to God’s promises:  Paul would appear before Caesar. It was God’s purpose, and it would not fail.  Because of God’s commitment to His Word going forth, He would preserve His witness and all aboard the ship would be delivered.

7) 27:30-32 The sailors did not believe Paul’s God could/would deliver them, so they decided to take matters into their own hands. But Paul finally had the respect of the soldiers, and they knew their deliverance depended upon Paul’s God.
