Fire Paramedic Upgrade The Fire Department has advised me that they are upgrading the Engine at Station 21 to paramedic status at an annual cost of $50,000. This will greatly enhance their ability to respond to multiple medical aide calls within the City. The change will take effect on March 14. Libbey Bowl The Libbey Bowl Town Hall meeting was very well attended this week. Participants shared their ideas, visions and concerns, regarding the future of the Bowl. This input will be discussed by the Libbey Bowl Committee and taken into consideration as they formulate their recommendations for the City Council. Sarzotti Park Master Plan Update Local residents are invited and encouraged to attend a public outreach meeting set for Monday, January 25 at 6:30 p.m. at Ojai City Hall. The meeting will include public input and discussion on the development of future plans and amenities for Sarzotti Park. The Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting the special meeting to gather additional input on the master plan update. An initial public outreach meeting was held in August, and City officials are looking forward to a large and diverse group to participate in the discussion. School Impact Fees The School District has refunded impact fees paid by compliance unit owners who were converting garages. As it turned out, only a couple of units had paid the fees. Storm Drainage Improvements Repair of two deteriorated city storm drains are underway. A 30 inch corrugated metal pipe was lined on Signal Street this week. An 18 inch corrugated metal pipe on Foothill Road will be replaced next week. 2015 Paving Update The striping on the newly paved roads was completed last week using thermoplastic which will roughly last the life of the overlay. Parking lot slurry and striping is scheduled for this upcoming May.
