City Council Directs Enforcement on Short-Term Rentals The City Council voted on May 24 to direct staff to begin enforcement on illegal short-term rentals (also known as “vacation” or “transient” rentals) in the City. The City had been in a four-month period of issuing warning letters to violators. The City will now proceed with enforcement actions, including, but not limited to, citations and potentially fines. The City Council also directed staff to prepare a comprehensive enforcement plan. That discussion is scheduled for the June 14 city council meeting. Special Meeting Set on Cultural Resources The City Council held a special meeting on May 24 to discuss cultural resources. The City Council called for an additional special meeting to further discuss the matter on Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m. at Ojai City Hall.
