Shade The shade cloth for the tot lot at the Libbey Park playground was installed this week. Trash Cans The first 25 sets of new recycle and trash can set were delivered Tuesday morning to replace the existing in the Arcade, Libbey Park, on Signal Street, Matilija Street, and Montgomery Street. The remaining sets for Sarzotti, Cluff Vista and other City locations will be delivered and installed in a couple weeks. Summer Camp The Recreation Department kicked off its 9-week summer program on Monday, June 20 with over sixty campers in attendance. Despite the high temperatures, the campers have had a great week. On Wednesday afternoon, they visited Buena Lanes Bowling and Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura. They also spent Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at the Villanova High School Pool. Next Wednesday, the camp will head to Magic Mountain for the weekly field trip. Ribbon Cutting The City Manager attended a ribbon cutting for the East End Restaurant & Bar on Friday, hosted by the Ojai Chamber of Commerce. The business is located on Ojai Avenue just east of Park Road, and adds nicely to Ojai’s mix of local restaurants. Extreme Heat The City did not suffer any issues as a result of the extreme heat earlier this week. HELP of Ojai was open as a cooling center on Sunday and Monday for those needing relief from the heat.
