Cultural Resources Committee on August 29 The Cultural Resources Committee will be meeting Monday, August 29 from 6 -7:30 p.m. The public is welcomed to attend. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers at Ojai City Hall. Taormina Public Hearing Topic of Special Meeting on August 30 A special city council meeting will be held Tuesday, August 30 for a public hearing for the City Council to consider an application for historic district for the Taormina community. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at Ojai City Hall. Weil Tennis Academy Dedicates Public Art On August 26 City staff and members of the Arts Commission attended a dedication for the new public art at the Weil Tennis Academy. The public art features “fortune cookie fortunes” embedded in the new walkways at the tennis academy. Staff and members of the Arts Commission were very impressed with the project outcome, and feel it is a great example of how public art enhances public space. Water Summit The Casitas Municipal Water District will hold the first Regional Drought Summit 2016 on Thursday, September 22, 2016. The Summit will include many of the water purveyors in Western Ventura County. There will also be a panel of speakers with representatives from the City of Ventura (Ventura Water), Ventura River Water District, Golden State Water Co., Meiners Oaks Water District, and Casitas Municipal Water District. There will also be Q & A segment where the audience can be part of the conversation.
