Winter Wonderland Hat Crochet Pattern

Special Stitches Double SC (Mini Puffs) Insert your hook into the next stitch. Yarn over, and pull back through that stitch (2 loops on hook). Yarn over, and insert your hook into the same stitch again. Yarn over, and pull back through that stitch (4 loops on hook). Yarn over, and pull through all the loops on your hook. Camel SC Insert your hook into the next stitch, but not through the front OR back loop, but instead an extra loop that is behind the sc stitch. Yarn over, and pull back through that stitch (2 loops on hook). Yarn over, and pull through all the loops on your hook. (You can find an easy video tutorial on this stitch in the blogpost)
Size: Fits 13 Years & Up (Adult) Finished Measurements Hat Circumference - 22" (56cm) Hat Height - 8.75" (22cm)
Gauge: 3 rows x 3 stitches in double sc = 2 inches
Materials: • 9.00mm (M) Crochet Hook • 230yds Chunky Yarn (12ply) - King Cole Comfort Chunky (In the colours "Claret" and "White”) • Tapestry Needle
Stitches Used: st(s) – stitch(es) ch – chain stitch sc – single crochet camel sc – camel single crochet double sc - double single crochet (mini puffs) sl st - slip stitch
Hat: Rnd 1- Ch2. 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in 1st sc. (6 sts) Rnd 2- Ch1, 2 double sc in every st, all around. Join with sl st in 1st double sc. (12 sts) Rnd 3- Ch1, 1 double sc in the 1st st. *2 double sc in next st. 1 double sc in the next st. Repeat from the * all around. Join with sl st in 1st double sc. (18 sts) Rnd 4- Ch1, 1 double sc in the next 2 sts. *2 double sc in next st. 1 double sc in the next 2 sts. Repeat from the * all around. Join with sl st in 1st double sc. (24 sts) Rnd 5- Ch1, 1 double sc in the next 3 sts. *2 double sc in next st. 1 double sc in the next 3 sts. Repeat from the * all around. Join with sl st in 1st double sc. (30 sts) Rnd 6- Ch1, 1 double sc in the next 9 sts. *2 double sc in next st. 1 double sc in the next 9 sts. Repeat from the * all around. Join with sl st in 1st double sc. (33 sts) Rnd 7 – 15- Ch1, 1 double sc in every st all around. Join with sl st in 1st double sc. Rnd 16- Change yarn colour to white. Ch1, 1 sc in every st all around. Join with sl st in 1 st sc. Rnd 17- Ch1, 1 camel sc in every st all around. Join with sl st in 1st camel sc. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
Pompom: Make 1 pompom using the chunky white yarn (Make sure the pompom measures 4.5" in size). Taking a needle, attach the pompom to the very top of the hat. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
