6th June 2017 Dear Student and Parent/Guardian The exam season is finally drawing to a close and I hope you and your children will soon be able to relax a little more! Before pupils disappear to make the most of the extended summer break, I would like to communicate with you regarding the arrangements for Results Day and Sixth Form. Students will be expecting this letter, as it was mentioned to them at the Leavers’ Assembly. The exam results will be available to students on Thursday 24th August and pupils should come to the hall where they will be able to pick up their results between 10am-12.30pm. They will be in an envelope for students to open themselves. Should any student be unavailable to collect their results and want someone else to pick them up, we will only allow this with written consent and photo ID on collection. Any results not collected at the above times will be posted to the home address that we have for students. Results will not be given out over the telephone. Please also refer to the information attached with this letter about the post results service should it become relevant. Students who intend to stay on at BHS Sixth Form will then have an interview with a member of the Leadership Team. Those who have applied to Sixth Form will need to finalise course choices and discuss any issues arising from results, as we wish to ensure students are able to make an effective start on an appropriate package of courses. In many cases, I anticipate meetings being quite short but they may require half an hour or so. Students not returning in September will just need to let us know where their next step is taking them. Please refer to earlier details sent regarding specific entry requirements and option blocks and please continue to liaise over any dilemmas or anything requiring further clarification. I would like to remind students that the new term for Year 12 begins on Tuesday 5th September at 8.50am. I would also like to remind students about our Transition Day on Wednesday 28th June which I have written to you about separately and which we expect to see our future Sixth Form students at. There is still time to discuss a BHS Sixth Form place with me in the case of a student not having made a formal application. We are aware that not all students are returning to Boroughbridge in September and would like to take the opportunity to wish all students success with their futures. We always like to know how our former students get on, so please keep in touch from time to time! If future arrangements should not work out as anticipated, please do not hesitate to contact the school as we will be open to a discussion about a potential return. If there are any outstanding issues you wish to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school (
[email protected]). Meanwhile, once the exams have concluded, do enjoy the Prom and the long, hot Summer! Yours faithfully A. Kennedy Mr A Kennedy Associate Assistant Head Head of Sixth Form
