YAC Swimming Dear Coach, YAC Swimming invites you to participate in the Wine Country Invitational to be held June 22-24, 2012. The meet is sanctioned by Inland Empire Swimming, Sanction # 1159 • • • • •

Location – This year Wine Country will be held in Toppenish, just 20 minutes southeast of Yakima in beautiful, SUNNY eastern Washington. Full Day Friday- The meet will be 3 full days. Warm ups will begin at 8:15 each day of the meet with the events starting at 10:00. Fly-Over starts - will be used for all sessions. Entry Limit - All swimmers will be limited to 4 individual events and 1 relay each day. Entry Procedure - No hand written entries accepted. Teams without Hy-Tek® Team Manager software may download Hy-Tek® TM Lite for free from this link: http://www.hy-tekltd.com/downloads.html.

Timers From Each Team Needed Staffing the lane timers will require volunteers from all teams for the meet to operate uninterrupted. Please prepare your parents to volunteer. A timer registration will be posted at the starting end of the pool and they are encouraged to sign in early. The swimmers entered in the 400 freestyle, 400 IM, and 1500 freestyle events will need to provide their own timers (and counter for the 1500). Relays The 200 Freestyle and Medley relays are required to make their 50 and 150 exchanges in the water. The turn end is not deep enough to permit starts from the deck. RV’s, Camping, and Parking No arrivals before 5:00 PM Thursday, June 21th. The grass is not for parking cars or campers, tents only. RV parking is limited to the empty lot near the Parks & Recreation building and to the streets behind the pool facility (Lincoln & A Street). If you have any questions, please call. YAC Swimming Wine Country Invitational Swim Meet June 22-24, 2012 Toppenish, Washington IES-USAS Sanction number: #IE-1159 In granting this sanction it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming, Inland Empire Swimming and YAC Swimming shall be free and held harmless from any liabilities or claims from damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the event. Description:

Outdoor 50 meter course. Eight lanes, each 7 feet wide, Competitor brand anti turbulence lane lines. Starting blocks conform to USA Swimming regulations and starting area depth exceeds 6 feet except for 200 relay exchanges, which will make the 50 and 150 exchange from the within the pool, where the depth fails to meet USA Swimming starting depth standard for starts from the deck. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). Backstroke flags at 5 meters from each wall, recall ropes at 15 meters from each wall and mid-course rope at 25 meters from each wall. Deck is wheel chair accessible.

Colorado Timing System 6 timing system interfaced with Hy-Tek Meet Manager software.

Type:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, timed final age group invitational. Age groups are 10-Under, 1112, 13-14, 15-Over, and Open.

Eligibility:

All entrants must be 2012 athlete members of USA Swimming. Age of each swimmer the first day of the meet determines their age for the entire meet. The registration number for each entrant must be included on each team’s master entry form or in the entry data on their entry file. Athletes with a disability are welcome and are asked to provide advance notice of necessary accommodations.

SWIMS:

The USA Swimming SWIMS database requires that all swimmer data be correct before any meet data (times) be loaded into the USA Swimming database. If you know of any swimmer data that is incorrectly entered in the meet database please notify the meet referee as soon as possible. The appropriate changes will be made. The data will be sent to USA Swimming within three days of the conclusion of the meet. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rules:

Current 2012 USA Swimming Rules and Regulations govern the meet. The rules and procedures of Inland Empire Swimming, Inc., are also in effect. The meet referee holds the final authority for the conduct of the competition. Swimmers participating in the meet without the presence of a USA Swimming registered coach member must report to the meet referee prior to warm up each day. Coaches must be USA Swimming 2012 registered coach members. Proof of coach certification may be required by the meet referee. The whistle starting protocol and no recall rule will be in effect. The IES scratch rules are in effect for the 400 IM, 400 Free and 1500 Free events. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from the water. When

unaccompanied by a member coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Deck Area:

Only swimmers, coaches, officials, and meet workers are permitted in the deck area. Spectators are not allowed in the deck area without proof of current USA Swimming membership. The deck area is considered to be a three-foot area from the edge of the pool and the area behind the starting platforms up to the timer chairs.

Coaches’ meeting 9:40 AM. 12-Under warm up 8:15 to 8:45. 13-Over warm up 8:45 to 8:35. Sprint lanes designated at the meet referee’s discretion. Meet marshals will be on duty during all warm-up periods. 15 minute break will follow event 40, 70, and 98. Positive check-in deadlines will be at 11:00 AM the day of the event. 15 minute open warm-up will follow event #34, 64, and 92.

The 1500 Free will be seeded fastest to slowest. The meet referee reserves the right to combine genders to expedite the meet. Swimmers must provide their own counter and 2 timers. st

Individuals score points 1 through 8 place. Relay events score points 1 - 8 place. Teams may enter as many relays as possible, but only one relay per team per relay event is eligible to score and for awards.

Entries: 

Swimmers may enter a maximum of 4 individual events each day and 1 relay Entries limited to the first 500 swimmers received. Order of receipt of entries and one check for all fees, whichever is later, determines order of receipt and acceptance. All completed entries and fees received the day the entrant limit is reached will be accepted.

Submit entries by best long course times only. Include attached Wine Country Invitational Meet Entries Summary Report with one check. E-mail TM file for individual events and relays. Please also email a Meet Entries Report with Details for individual and relay events sorted by swimmer and exported as a Word document. Please check the Meet Entries Report for accuracy before you send your entries. Parking is limited at pool site; however there is plenty of street parking nearby.
