01. CALL TO ORDER: 8:10 PM – Los Feliz Neighborhood Council (LFNC) Sports & Recreation Chair, Mark Mauceri, called the meeting to order. Committee Members present (02):

03. APPROVAL OF OUTSTANDING MEETING MINUTES: 8:12 PM – Chair, Mark Mauceri, advised approximately two sets of previous meeting minutes had gone missing from the Council website. He will be able to find them from his notes and present at a later date: MOTION: Whittlesey moves the committee table approval of outstanding minutes until they are located or recreated. SECOND: Mauceri. Motion carries, 2-0. 04. CHAIR’S UPDATE ON CURRENT PROJECT STATUS: 8:15 PM – Mauceri walked through initial fiscal year budget of approximately $5K; purchase and installation of new T.S. King Gymnasium Scoreboard on track, initial $1200 install estimate low by about $500, need extra $ for pulling new signal wire and moving electrical outlet box. Mauceri noted public speakers seeking funding should wait until Agenda item 5. The Griffith Park Ballfields project is being challenged in Superior Court by the ‘’Friends’ of Griffith Park, et. al; awaiting hearing date. Per the S&R committee written request L.A. Recreation and Parks has declared Lasorda Field applicable for permitting when not in use, and the batting cage has been fast-tracked for completion and accessibility.

05. FUNDING CONSIDERATIONS: 8:20 PM – PUBLIC COMMENT: Elliot Zeelander and Greg Brouwer, local youth baseball coaches, request the committee consider allocating funding for opening access to Lasorda Field on Sundays when it is locked off from the public. MOTION: Whittlesey moves the committee rescind the previous $1200 allocation for T.S. King scoreboard and recommend $1699 to cover extra items. SECOND: Mauceri. Motion carries, 2-0. Committee briefly discusses situation at Lasorda Field; being separate from SLRC Recreation Center, requiring on-site supervision in order to open facility (at a cost), etc. Mauceri opines there is enough budget left to pilot a spring program to “prime the pump” and gauge overall interest and then solicit financial support from other entities. MOTION: Whittlesey moves the committee recommend allocation of $1275 for Lasorda Field access. SECOND: Mauceri. Motion carries, 2-0. 06. NEW BUSINESS: 8:35 PM – Whittlesey reviewed the court filings against the ballfields project, discussed the nature of a “Mendamus” action, and recommended the council contact the City Attorney’s office handling the case to help review the projects impetus an history. 07. OTHER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: 8:45 PM – Whittlesey outlined AYSO “VIP” program serving kids with special needs. YSO is currently researching cost and scope. AYSO may come forward in new fiscal year for funding for special needs specific equipment (large balls, etc.). Mauceri suggested we look into some sort of community event at T.S.. King on Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day. Perhaps a joint effort with Friends of King t(FOK) to help raise funds? 07. AJOURN: 8:50 PM – Whittlesey moves, Mauceri seconds. Meeting adjourned
