How Great the Future November 24/25, 2012 Revelation 20-22 FOLLOWING THE MESSAGE 1) 20:11 Nothing compels God to act justly. Justice is His very nature. 2) 20:11 The “Him” who sits on the White Throne is the eternal, almighty God the Son. Scripture teaches that Jesus will judge sinners. 3) 20:12 All actions will be measured against God’s standard. God’s justice demands payment for every person’s sins. Those seen by God without Jesus’ righteousness will pay the penalty for violating God’s law. 4) 21:1 The old creation must make way for the new creation if God is to be glorified. 5) 21:2 The New Jerusalem already exists. It is being prepared for us. 6) 21:4 Heaven is so dramatically different that describing it requires using negatives. It is totally beyond human understanding. 7) 21:12 There will not be just one “pearly gate,” there will be twelve. 8) 21:12-14 At the entrance to the New Jerusalem, we will see the legacy of God’s work on earth through the chosen people (Israel), built upon the foundation of the work of the church. 9) 21:18-20 Our God is a God of beauty. He lavishes His beauty on the city He is preparing for you. 10) 21:21 Everything there will be transparent to let God’s glory blaze through. 11) 21:22 There will be no need to go to a church. 12) 21:25 Everybody will be welcome in the eternal capital. There will be no more divisions as we know them. 13) 22:2 The tree of life, which was once forfeited by our ancestors in Eden, will be fully restored.
14) 22:3 That there no longer will be any curse will be the most dramatic change from present Earth. 15) 22:3 Eternity will not be a time of eternal idleness or uselessness. Rather every person will be involved in service. 16) 22:4 His name on the forehead stands as a seal, as a proof of ownership. 17) 22:5 We will not just serve the Lord, but we will reign with Him.
