8:45 am – 10:00 am The Leadership Qualities Public Procurement Professionals Need Now David Rabiner Room: Pikes Peak

Public procurement professionals are great business partners, helping managers and operating units secure the right products and services in the most cost-effective way. However, many procurement professionals struggle with getting that "seat at the table" -- being involved with their internal customers from the beginning of planning processes. Often, they have to overcome the perception that the procurement process is a bureaucratic obstacle. Procurement leadership is about creating committed clients - not just compliant clients. It's about positioning yourself and your team as viable and valuable partners to everyone in the organization - while at the same time maintaining the integrity of the public purchasing process. This powerful program presented by international speaker David Rabiner explores the important personal qualities and practices that lead customers to embrace (instead of resist) procurement. As important, it identifies the obstacles that keep all of us from excelling at these leadership qualities. These leadership tools will help procurement professionals and the people they lead become better partners with customers and vendors. Attendees will leave with the fundamental practices of procurement leadership and a development plan designed to build influential relationships with colleagues and get that all important seat at the table. This program will be valuable for both procurement managers and their staffs. 10:00 am – 10:20 am Morning Break 10:20 am – 11:45 am Continuation of Leadership Qualities Public Procurement Professionals Need Now Room: Pikes Peak

11:45 am – 12:00 pm Door Prize Drawing & Closing Remarks 12:00 pm Adjourn – Drive home safely, or stay and enjoy more of Colorado Springs! 12:30 pm Transitional Board Meeting (for 2015 and 2016 RMGPA Officers, Chairs, and Co-Chairs) Room: Front Range Room
