20160815 AD Sutherland Chapter Mtg Meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Don Buerger. Minutes from the July 18th meeting were read and approved. Old Business Clubhouse o
General Maintenance & Grounds o Bob Chase raked out the wood chips at the 85 yard – really did a good job and they’re done.
Range Work o 100 yard range is done, benches painted, etc. The table and the tent are doing ok. o No extra bullet holes in the building. People seem to be doing better about putting things against the backstops, etc.
Club Events/Calendar o Brat fry took in $328 profit. Plus $42 in the donation jar. Very low attendance from the club. o Class has been posted for registration for Concealed Carry online. Fifty signed up to date. Lauren will check on the link to the site. In the future Howard will email Lauren at the same time he emails Nick. o 51 of our 100 Open Range days are covered. 49 to go.
Miscellaneous o
New Business Clubhouse o New building for the 25 yard – roof is off, rafters off, wood and most of shingles are gone. Eight of the bases are poured, need to get the concrete in. Planning work to start this Thursday afternoon.
Range Work o Need to get the shed doors sprayed with paint.
General Maintenance & Grounds o
Club Events/Calendar o Howard mentioned that they saw a couple of deer yesterday during a pistol class. o Hunter Safety registration will be on 8/29 at 7:30, door number 3 at the Rec Dept. Classes will start on the 6th from 6-8:30, be Tuesdays and Thursdays. 9 until 2 Field day on Saturday the 17th (ranges closed). Final test is the 20th.
Miscellaneous o National Convention report from Liz. Rollie, Mike, Loren, Fred, and Lauren each came up and worked. Liz brought copies of the reports, program, etc. back if anyone would like to review. Liz went to the workshop on “Getting More People Involved in the Shooting Sports.” Brought some materials back on competition, safety, etc. Resolutions for National all passed and Liz brought copies of the summaries. Liz made a motion to reimburse Rollie and Fred for their cost to go up to convention. Tony seconded. Carried
unanimously. The $10 dues increase at National Convention passed easily. The next focus from National will be clean water initiatives. o Raffle tickets are in the kitchen for all of the raffles. o IWLA endowment sent a thank you for the 50/50 donations. Up to $379 towards our million dollar club. o Tom mentioned that the local Friends of the NRA got no grant requests from Fond du Lac County. October 15th is the deadline for grant requests for next year. Grants are looking to incorporate new shooters and youth education. John made a motion to adjourn.
