Welcome & Introductions Guest Speaker – Ben Kaulb, Instructional Technology Coordinator presented “The Power of Educational Technology”. For more information see “Family Connections” through the district website: tech.svvsd.org/family Meeting minutes of September 12th meeting read and accepted. Budget: o Technology Update: Every grade level now has a chrome cart available. o Overview of current budget with Fundraising amounts updated Communication: o Reviewed multiple ways to connect with PTO: Website, Newsletters, Handouts/Friday Folders, Email, Meetings, etc. o New signage for King Soopers Reloadable Gift Cards was shown and new magnets with how to contact the PTO was announced. Fundraising: o October 19th will be the Fall Fundraiser Pizza Party and Limo ride, as well as order pickups organized by Big Kahuna. More volunteers are requested and sign up information was shared. o BoxTops for Education: Deadline is coming up, November 1st. Classroom Contest is coming, stay tuned for more information. Encouraged attendees to use the App. o Spirit Nights: Upcoming McDonald’s Spirit Night will focus on providing flexible seating requested by staff after reviewing the fall grant requests. November General Meeting will include a guest speaker to share more information about flexible seating with samples of seats available for families to see. Events/Opportunities: o Lending Library is located at the front of the school. o Mission Possible Kids (MPK): An update was given on the program and participation was encouraged. The board has more information about how to get involved on Facebook and in Newsletters. Volunteer Opportunities for MPK: Before School, two times per month (approximately), more information available. o Staff Connections – Classroom/Teacher Wish lists will be available during conference time. o King Soopers Gift Card table will need Volunteers to help during conference times, sign up available at meeting.

o Spirit Wear has been submitted and once it returns we will get them out to families. o Holiday Happenings: Giving Tree/Wrapping Gifts/Family Event all coming soon. Principal’s Report – Dr. Jirik, discussed community meetings and boundary meetings are being held in our community. It is highly encouraged to attend the meetings with any questions or concerns families have. They are very informative.
Upcoming Events: October Late Start – 10/4, Parent-Teacher Conferences – 10/9-11, Book Fair 10/9-12, No School – 10/13 and 10/16, Fall Fundraiser Product Delivery and Limo Ride/Pizza Party – 10/19, McDonald’s Restaurant Spirit Night – 10/25, 4-8 pm (20% comes back to the school, all money that is raised during this event will be dedicated to providing focus tools and flexible seating options for our school.), Costume Parade and Parties – 10/31, November Late Start – 11/1, November PTO Meeting – 11/14 Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities: Meals for Conferences, King Soopers Reloadable Gift Card Table during conferences, Fall Fundraiser Product/Prize Delivery and Limo Ride/Pizza Party, Spirit Wear Delivery Meeting Adjourned at: 7:35 pm Minutes compiled by: Debra Jackson
