'Age UK Hampshire is a local charity and only receives very limited funding from the national Age UK charity. Currently we need to raise £7500 from donations this year to support Lunch Clubs for older people in Winchester. Many of Winchester's older community would face a bleak, lonely and isolated existence without these Lunch Clubs. Age UK are able to get members out of their home and transport them, by minibus, to be able to be part of the com munity. The Lunch Clubs provide a nutritionally balanced meal and a chance to meet and socialise with friends, as well as m eet with new p eo p le . Age UK Lunch Clubs also provide foot clinics, exercise classes, NHS health clinics, IT coaching and other activities. There are currently five clubs in Winchester which run on weekdays in the city centre, W eeke and Winnall.

A Message from our President Iain Steel Having started life as a villain in a 'penny dreadful' of 1847, it seems entirely appropriate to return this, our 2017 production of Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street to its Victorian roots of 170 years ago.
We are delighted to welcome back the award winning production team of David Tatnall, Martin Paterson & Chrissie Finn to lead us with their enthusiastic, talented and visionary pas sion for musical theatre - especially as, during our long history, we have never performed Sweeney Todd before.
An infam ous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him, ravaged his young wife and stole his daughter. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett's luck sharply shifts when Todd's thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up... and the carnage has only just begun! c . . Song .List Act I Organ Prelude / The Ballad of Sweeney Todd The Company No Place Like London - Todd, Anthony and Beggar Woman
On a personal note I am extremely honoured to become the new Presi dent of Winchester Musicals & Opera Society recently (the third genera tion of the Steel family to hold this esteemed position over the past 50 years). I am indebted to our Chairman Suzanne Hall, the Executive Committee, all WMOS Members & Friends and immediate Past President Brain Hurst for their wholehearted support.

WMOS has been providing quality theatrical productions (always includ ing a proper live orchestra) for over 100 years - we are hugely grateful to you, our audience, for your continued loyalty to this Society as we build on our successful past and exciting artistic future. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Theatre Royal in November 2017 for Irving Berlin's White Christmas.

Meanwhile, sit back, relax, immerse yourself in the spectacle of a Victorian Music Hall as you attend the tale of Sweeney Todd.... you might wish to enjoy a pie or even a shave?
