Program Guide 2017 June 12-Aug. 12 Family Pool Pass $275 Pack up your family and head to the pool this summer. It’s the perfect way to help your kids practice their skills from Learn to Swim or simply enjoy a beautiful outdoor setting. Only a select number of passes will be sold, so be sure to secure yours early. Pool Hours: 4:00-7:00 p.m. Mon-Fri Open pool 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sat-Sun Open pool Pool closed July 4; subject to additional closures Learn to Swim $90/session Lessons are 45 minutes each. Lessons are held Monday-Thursday for both weeks; Fridays are reserved for make-ups due to pool closure. See website for a full description of levels. Sessions will fill! Session A June 12-22 Options include 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, or 2:00 Session B June 26-July 7 (pool closed July 4) Options include 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, or 1:00 Session C July 10-20 Options include 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, or 1:00 Session D July 24-August 3 Options include 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, or 1:00 Advanced Swim $90/session After successfully completing Level 4 and receiving a completion certificate, children are ready for Advanced Swimming. Advanced Swimming is about stroke refinement and swimming for endurance. Additionally, children will learn flip turns and poolside and diving board dives. Advanced Swim is 9:00-9:50 only. May register for multiple sessions. Session A June 12-22 9:00-9:50 Session B July 10-20 9:00-9:50 Splashball Camp 2:45-4 p.m. $75 Age 5-9 (Max. 10) Created by the U.S. Water Polo Association, Splashball introduces the sport of water polo to children. The intent is to provide basic skills and understanding of the sport in a recreational format. Although water polo is known for its toughness and endurance, Splashball harnesses all the fun, dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn experience that will motivate kids to swim and stay fit. Arm floats are allowed for children who need a little more help in the pool; Splashball stays in the shallow end. The program is taught by athletes who compete at the high school and college levels. Session A – June 12-16 Session B – June 26 – June 30 June 19-23 Lifeguard-In-Training 3-4 p.m. $60 Age 12-14 Does your family describe you as a fish? A natural in the water? Official lifeguard certification happens when you are 15 and successfully complete a lifeguarding course, but this mini aquatics camp is for the future lifeguard or swim instructor. The three days focus on continued development as a swimmer as well as pool safety from the perspective of a Lifeguard. You will develop a foundation of skills to be a confident presence at a pool and learn how to keep kids safe while conducting a swim lesson. • Leadership and confidence • Swimming fitness and endurance • Water safety • Assistant Learn to Swim instructor practice Highly proficient participants are encouraged to consider an assistantship in Dunn’s Learn to Swim program for sessions A-D (see above for dates).
