ROHWER ELEMENTARY PTO 2017-2018 Parent Volunteer Opportunities

The Rohwer PTO sponsors many activities and events throughout the school year. We look forward to working with all parents – no matter how much time you have to spare! We need people to assist on each of the committees below. Please mark the ones that interest you, then return to the PTO table at Open House or to your child’s teacher. A brief explanation of each committee is on the back of this form. The committee chairperson will contact you with more details. Art Programs – Help coordinate arts-based enrichment opportunities for students (August-May)

Book Fairs - Work a shift during the book fair - also get a $5 book coupon for working (November and February)

Box Tops for Education – Collect, trim, count and bundle Box Tops for submission (October and February)

Carnival - Work a shift at the carnival (October)

Directory - Type and proof entries for print (August)

Friday Folders - Stuff student take-home folders (Fridays 9-10 a.m.)

Holiday Cookie Event for Staff - Provide baked goods for event (December)

Hospitality - Provide food items for special event staff meals (August-May)

____

Hy-Vee Coupon Books - Help sell Hy-Vee coupon books at social events throughout the year

Hy-Vee Receipts – Tally receipts for submission (September through January)

____

Jr. Achievement - Assist committee chair with coordinating this new program with staff (August-May)

One School, One Book – Help with the school-wide reading program and end of program social event (January - February)

Social - Work a shift at social events – Turkey Bingo (November), Movie Night (March)

Spirit Wear – Help fulfill orders for Rohwer logo items (Fall)

Teacher Appreciation Week – Help organize the week's festivities or donate requested items (March)

Valentine’s Day Heart Hunt – Prepare and tape up hearts throughout school (February)

Variety Show – Help coordinate the annual talent show (May)

WATCH D.O.G.S – Help organize volunteers and schedules (August -April)
