Race #1 - THE JUG JAMBOREE Jug Mountain Ranch, McCall August 26, 2017 COURSE DESCRIPTION We are returning to Jug Mountain Ranch in McCall for the 2017 season opener. A new course and venue layout will take advantage of some of the state’s premier single track winding through the meadows and Ponderosa forest at the base of Jughandle Mountain. The venue offers something for everyone: beginners can enjoy the rolling, buffed out singletrack while experts have plenty of opportunities for technical features and fast flowy descents. High School racers will turn multiple laps on this fast course, with the following ​NICA Race Duration Guidelines​ for each category: -

45-90 minutes for Freshman/Sophomore boys and girls and JV girls 60-100 minutes for JV boys and Varsity girls 90-120 minutes for Varsity boys

Student-athletes may be asked to withdraw at the finish line after time limits have been reached. Race officials reserve the right to determine these time limits at anytime. Time limits may be imposed for reasons that include, among others: safety, heat, cold, rain, muddy conditions, clearing the course, and relieving course marshals. Course closures may be announced at anytime and do not need to be announced in advance. Racers who do not make the time limit cut-off will still be scored and ranked. New for 2017, all Middle School racers will start off their race season here at Jug Mountain with a 1-lap time trial. Results from the time trial will determine both A/B seeding for all 7th and 8th grade racers as well as race#2 call-ups for all middle school categories. Overall awards for all middle school racers will be presented for the 5 fastest boys and 5 fastest girls regardless of category/grade. PARKING Vehicles must park in the designated parking areas identified with signs at the venue. A shuttle service will provide transportation from parking areas to Pit Zone location. All vehicles must abide by the instructions of parking volunteers and/or league staff. Any violators risk imposition of penalties against their respective teams. Handicap parking is available at the Pit Zone.

Pit Zone is open to vehicles for 15 minute drop off during the following times: - Friday 12:00PM on - Saturday 6:00AM - 7:00AM No Smoking in Pit Zone No inappropriate language allowed in Pit Zone Any conflicts and/or disputes with any race official or volunteer shall ​not​ be dealt with in the Pit Zone Teams must remove all trash from Pit Zone and place in dumpsters. Teams must be prepared to quickly drop off equipment at their PZ location and relocate all vehicles ​and ​trailers to designated parking lots. Pit Zone spaces will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis and should be filled in starting at the top of the PZ area and working back down toward the PZ entrance. BE PREPARED FOR CONGESTION AND TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING INTO THE PIT ZONE AREA​ - we recommend limiting the amount of equipment and gear each team brings into the Pit Zone. All riders, coaches and parents are responsible for knowing and abiding by the NICA rulebook. Rule violations may result in individual and/or team penalties. REGISTRATION Online registration closes on Sunday, August 20th at 12:00 midnight. ​Students must be registered and “practice-ready” for the season prior to this date. (Race plates will be assigned at this time.) Race Ready Checklist: ●

On-site registration will incur a $10 late fee payment​. To avoid long lines and late fees, please pre-register for the race online. ACCOMMODATIONS Onsite camping​- Primitive camping is available at the venue at no charge. Important Camping Notes: -

There are no water or electrical connections onsite. All campers must come completely self sufficient.

Space is very tight and​ ​NO LARGE (greater than 20') RV TRAILERS AND ONLY ONE RV PER TEAM ​will be allowed​. ​TENT CAMPING IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED​. Camping is available on a first come-first served basis.

Teams must remove all trash and place in dumpsters near Jug Mountain club house.

Hotels-​ Hotels are located approximately 20 minutes from the venue in McCall.

FOOD SERVICE Food service will be available at the Jug Mountain Ranch restaurant throughout the weekend. OTHER IMPORTANT VENUE NOTES ●

Dogs Allowed. However, dogs must be on leash and in control of the owner at all times. No leaving dogs unattended or in car. Must clean up after your dog. Team penalties will apply.
