THE CRANK DOWN IN TIGER TOWN Race #2 Chewacla State Park March 18, 2018
COURSE DESCRIPTION The course at this park will use a combination of tight and twisty single track and wide dirt roads to test the racers fitness and bike handling skills. The seemingly flat course is deceiving as the constant up/down results in 381 feet of elevation gain per HS lap. In addition, these trails offer a lot more ‘texture’ with roots, rocks and tight turns that require strong bike skills as well as a powerful set of legs. Spectators bring your noisemakers, because as the trail meanders through the woods, there are several opportunities to see the race unfolding from your seats in the infield area. Don’t let the lap distances fool you, lap times on this course will be on par with other, longer courses this season. High School Lap 3.82 miles, 381 feet elevation per lap Course GPS file will be available on March 2, 2018 at this link: CLICK HERE Interactive venue map can be found at this link: CLICK HERE
***Please be aware that Chewacla State Park has many man-made mountain bike features inside the park. These features are outside the area where the League events will occur, however they are easily accessible and some located in the camping area. These features are not part of our event and should not be ridden as part of any official NICA activity throughout the weekend. If parents choose to let their sons/daughters ride these features, understand that they are assuming all risks and liabilities of doing so. *** Thank you for your help in communicating this message and keeping our student-athletes safe. DO NOT RIDE BIKES ALONG THE MAIN PARK ROAD BACK/FORTH FROM THE CAMPING AND INFIELD AREAS. THERE IS A TRAIL ALONG THE SHORE OF THE LAKE THAT CAN BE USED INSTEAD.
