In recognition to the importance of research in educational planning, program development, and policy making in basic education, the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas will hold the 2nd City of Dasmarinas Research Educators' Assembly (C-DREAM) with the theme Engaging Learning Leaders in Research for Improved Learning Outcomes and Good School Governance on December 1415, 2016 at St. Paul College Island Park, Dasmanñas City, Cavite. 2. This is consistent with DepED Order 43 s. 2015 to promote culture of research in the education department to strengthen evidence-based policy development and decision making; and DepED Order 39,s. 2016 that provides guidance among researchers on topics that will answer the gaps and issues in the basic education. 3. The conference aims to: activate the practice of research in addressing gaps, improving curriculum, cultivating good governance which are aligned to DepEd mission, vision, and core values; deepen the appreciation on th significance of research as input to basic education school transformation; c. provide avenue that showcases emerging trends and techniques in educational research; and d. provide opportunities to recognize outstanding research papers in the division. 4. Expenses shall be charged to the Special Education Fund intended for Research and Development subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. 5. • Coordinates the decoration of the venue. • Establishes setup times (work with Ms. Lyn of St. Paul College) and places the decorations in the rooms and then returning to dismantle them. Organizes and finishes any last minute assembly of the decorations once on-site. • Collaborates with all the committees {Session, Food, etc), on space, set-up, audio visual needs such as computers, LCDS, and other technologies needed during the plenary and breakout sessions. • Works with registration committee regarding the seating needs, numbers of participants, award recipients, special guests, etc. • Ensures the correct number of presentation boards in the Session Hall (for the Oral Presenters) and the arrangement of posters must be in proper places. • Posts the name of presenters, session managers, facilitators and date and time for every presentation in the session hail in coordination of the Committee on Reception

• Orients the session managers shortly before the Opening Program. • Prepares the script for session managers. • Sees to it that all oral presenters have been notified of their room assignments. • Ensures that session managers arrive at the session room at least 20 minutes before sessions. • Distributes the script and the list of oral presenters to be used by the session manager. • Transfers speaker presentations to computer used in session room. • Makes announcements during the session to complete evaluations, to announce changes, etc. if necessary. • Organizes List of Session Managers and Facilitators and furnishes copies to Committee on Physical Arrangement. • Coordinates sitting arrangement of the participants with the Committee on Physical Arrangement COMMITTEE ON CERTIFICATES

The Participants to this activity are the Schools Division Superintendent, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Curriculum Implementation Division Chief and Staff, Schools Governance and Operations Division Chief and Staff Education Program Supervisors, Public Schools District Supervisors, Elementary and Secondary School Heads, and Teacher- Researchers. This office announces the participation of the private schools and public senior high this year. Teacherresearchers from the private school and senior high schools may submit research studies conducted for the past 3 years subject to the approval of the Division Research Committee. The research paper must be in line with the following themes indicated in the Basic Education Research Agenda but not limited to: Theme 1: Teaching and Learning Theme 2: Child Protection Theme 3: Human Resource Development Theme 4: Governance Cross-Cutting Themes: Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Gender and Development Inclusive Education Finished action research studies may be presented in oral or poster presentation which shall be determined later by the Division Research Team There shall be a separate presentation of abstract for completed masters' theses and doctoral dissertations. However previously presented action research studies, theses, and dissertations in any research congress, fora, and conferences locally and/or abroad need not submit to give chance to others to present their research studies. School with the most number of submitted approved action research studies shall be recognized during the awarding ceremony. Teacher-researchers shall submit I soft copy of research abstract which consists of 150-200 words through depeddasma.researchtgmail.com . And (4) copies of the full version of their research outputs to Dr. John G. Nepomuceno at the Planning and Research Unit on or before NOVEMBER 4, 2016. The format of the RESEARCH ABSTRACT shall have the following parts: > Purpose (Objective of the research) Design/Methodology/ Approach ( How the research was conducted, includes sampling, mode of data collection, scope of paper) );o Findings (results of the research, analysis of data, discussion) Research Limitations/Implications( Methodology parameters that can restrict the scope of the research findings and are outside the control of researchers) Originality Nalue (What is new in the research? What is the value of the research?) Keywords (Listing of keywords will facilitate the search for the research work; should be italicized)

It shall not exceed 3000 words(excluding the title, and the references) d. It shall contain the following parts as adapted with some modifications DepEd Order 43, 2015 • I. CONTEXT AND RATIONALE (Includes the description and context of the study and the reason for conducting it; how the results could be used in action planning. • II.REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE( Focuses on the key issues which underlie the action research; general conclusion about related action research papers; what research still need to be done; and what knowledge gaps remain that the study aim to fill) • IILRESEARCH QUESTIONS (Identifies the problem/s which will be addressed by the research in terms of investigating or testing an idea; trying out solutions to a problem; creating a new procedure or system; explaining a phenomenon; or a combination of any of these.) • SCOPE AND LIMITATION (Coverage of the research in terms of location, time, respondents, etc; inherent design or methodology parameters that can restrict the scope of the research findings and are outside the control of the researcher) • METHODOLOGY(Contains details of how the research will be conducted) Sampling (Details should be provided about who will participate in the research: number of people and the characteristics of those who will participate in the research: and how will be the sample be selected and recruited) Data Collection (the various instruments and procedures for data collection should be outlined and extensively discussed.) GUIDELINES ON ORAL PRESENTATION A.1 Paper presenters shall be guided by the following pointers: A.1.1 The oral presentation shall ONLY be good for 15 minutes and 15 minutes shall be devoted for the open forum after all the presenters have presented their papers, . Time limit will be observed. A.1.2 The availability of multimedia projector is guaranteed. A.1.3 Handouts may be provided by the presenters, however, it is not required. A. 1.4 Presenters shall bring their own laptop. A.2 For group research, only 1 (one) presenter is allowed to present their research paper. However, they will be acknowledged by the session manager before the start of the presentation and they may participate in the open forum. A.3 Presenters are advised to use the suggested format for their PowerPoint presentation illustrated below.

B. GUIDELINES ON POSTER PRESENTATION

B.1 For poster presentation, presenters are advised to use vertical (portrait) layout of 48 x36 inches. Font size is 16 (for body) to 18 (for title). Poster should include ABSTRACT, CONTEXT AND RATIONALE, RESEARCH QUESTIONS, SCOPE AND LIMITATION, METHODOLOGY, SAMPLING DATA COLLECTION, SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS, and REFERENCES. For uniformity purposes, poster presentation should be framed with a stand. It shall be displayed on the designated area in the morning of Day I of the conference. B.2 Poster presenters are encouraged to prepare handouts/leaflets of their research studies which may be distributed during the display period. B.3 Poster presenters are requested to stay where their poster is located throughout the display period. 10. The participants and paper presenters are encouraged to wear corporate attire dung the conference. 11. The session managers, timekeepers, and hall facilitators will be the Education Program Supervisors, Public Schools District Supervisors and other members of the CID and SGOD which announced later.
