If + Past Simple  would/could/might + base forma (p. 27). Sí + Pasado simple  debería/podría/ser posible + forma basica. If I won $100,000, I would travel around the world. Si gané $100.000, viajaría por todo el mundo. Would you be afraid if you got lost in a forest? ¿Tendría miedo si usted se pierde en un bosque? Conditional Sentences Type 2 Oraciones condicionales Tipo 2.) (p. 67). We use Conditional Sentences Type 2 for unreal or imaginary situations which are unlikely to happen in the present or the future. In Conditional Sentences Type 2 were is often used instead of was in the if-clause in all persons. En las oraciones condicionales Tipo 2 a menudo se utiliza were en vez de was en la cláusula if en todas las personas. If Mary were older, she could take driving lessons. Si Mary fuera mayor, ella podría tomar clases de conducir.



We use If I were you to express an opinion or give advice. Utilizamos If I were para expresar una opinión o dar consejos. If I were you, I’d take it easy. Si yo fuera tú, lo tomaría con calma.

If he were in my place, he wouldn't do this. Si él estuviese en mi lugar, no haría esto. If I had more money, I would buy a nice apartment. Si yo tuviese más dinero, me compraría un lindo apartamento. If she had more time, she would travel more often. Si ella tuviera más tiempo, viajaría más a menudo. If it were not raining, we could go out. Si no estuviese lloviendo, podríamos salir. If we didn't have to work today, we could have a picnic. Si no tuviésemos que trabajar hoy, podríamos tener un picnic. If they won the lottery, they wouldn't work any more. Si ellos ganaran la lotería, no trabajarían más. If I saw her, I would ask her out. Si la viera, la invitaría a salir. If you went to Brazil, you wouldn't want to come back. Si fueras a Brazil, no querrías regresar. If they spoke Spanish, we would understand them.
