On Friday 25 September 2015, the Lord Mayor launched our Community Services Community Development training programme for Autumn and Winter. There’ll be 12 workshops which will be delivered in north, south, east and west Belfast. You can sign up for just one, or all of the sessions, depending on availability. We’re keen to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from this training, so the programme is free of charge and open to community groups and their representatives, committee members, staff and volunteers in Belfast – of all levels of experience. The programme will run from October 2015 until February 2016. We’ve designed the programme in partnership with some of the leading sector agencies and training providers to equip community groups, community workers, staff and volunteers across the city with key skills in a range of subject areas with the aim of supporting groups in carrying out their work in meeting the needs of their community. There’s a broad range of relevant, practice based sessions covering some of the key components and skills local community organisations need to operate effectively.
