ABOUT BAHIP BAHIP is a one-year, paid internship program designed to recruit and train students at Bay Area colleges and universities to become housing development professionals. This internship aims to provide a launching pad for college students from low-income, communities of color backgrounds into a career in affordable housing development and project management. We strongly encourage applications from students entering their last year of college who have an interest in urban studies and/or community development. Students who are bi-cultural and/or bilingual/bi-literate are also encouraged to apply.

NPH MISSION & VISION The Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH) activates our members to make the Bay Area a place where everyone has an affordable and stable home. We are 750 affordable housing developers, advocates, community leaders and businesses, working to secure resources, promote good policy, educate the public and support affordable homes as the foundation for thriving individuals, families and neighborhoods.
2018 PROGRAM PERIOD AND PAY The term of the program is for one year - from June 2018 to May 2019. Interns are expected to start no later than June 30th, 2018. The hourly pay will be at minimum $17 per hour. Cost of any NPH-sponsored trainings will also be covered under the internship.
NPH sees a future where everyone has a place to call home and where low-income communities and communities of color stay and prosper in the Bay Area.
HOW THE INTERNSHIP WORKS
"The voice of affordable housing since 1979."
Interns selected for BAHIP will be matched with Host Agencies - the organization where interns will work during their internship. NPH will be the Program Administrator for BAHIP, coordinating trainings, supplemental program activities, and ensuring that the Interns have a productive internship. To apply to be a BAHIP Intern, you must submit an application to NPH by the submission deadline. Interns are selected via a competitive application process from across the 9-county Bay Area. Applications and more information can be found at www.nonprofithousing.org/bahip/. Questions? Contact Matt Huerta, BAHIP Program Manager at
