Good Morning Chargers! Today is Monday, February 6th Teachers, please read the following announcements at your discretion.
• Attention Seniors! Yearbook needs pictures of you!! If you have pictures of you and your friends in sports, dances, classrooms, group pictures or club meetings etc… Please visit the Yearbook room 233 for more information on how you can get them in to this year’s book
• Male athletes who are currently in Winter Sports or who were unable to attend the first tryouts, Boy’s Volley ball will have a second tryout on Friday, February 10th. Time to be announced
• SENIORS who did not complete a Student of the Month application last fall, are invited to complete an application, currently available outside the Activities Office. Deadline for submission is Wednesday, February 8th. If you filled out an application last fall, you do not need to resubmit a new one, it will be considered at this time.
• This Thursday, Feb. 9th is the 2nd Club Rush at lunch! Club presidents, don’t forget, there is a lunch meeting Wednesday, Feb. 8th in the ASB room!
• This is a reminder to all members of the Edison Leadership council. We will meet in room 220 today at 12:15. You will be excused from 4th period at 12:10. Please hustle over to Mrs. Harrell’s room as we have a guest speaker.
• Thank you very much to Edison High School for helping out Hoag Hospital with the NHS magazine drive. We collected close to a 1000 magazines for long-term patients and their families at Hoag. I would like to award Mrs. Harrell’s 2nd period class for collecting the most magazines with a donut party.
• Are you interested in joining the largest career student organization in the world, Future Business Leaders of America, otherwise known as FBLA? Join us for our first informational meeting about launching a chapter of FBLA here at Edison, on Wednesday, February 8th at lunch in room 127. Hope to see you there!
• Let’s give a big Charger shout out and wish our Varsity cheer team good luck at the High School Cheer National Championship on ESPN.
• Your Edison Surf Team killed it at the Sunset League All Star Surfing Competition last week. Meah Collins dominated everything by taking the women’s shortboard, league MVP and Surfer of the Yar. Caitlin Carter ripped to a 5th place finish. In the big men’s shortboard final, Junior Dustin Voorhees won the final with big snaps and a killer fins
